Who we are

Social Work Events is operated by [Owner setup needed: legal entity name], [Owner setup needed: postal address]. Privacy questions: [Owner setup needed: privacy contact email].

Information you give us

Account: email address, password (stored by our authentication service in hashed form) or a Google sign-in identifier, and an adult self-attestation. We do not verify age.

Profile (optional, self-reported): display name, bio, location, role, interests, LinkedIn URL, and settings for public profile and Open to connecting.

Activity: private saves, Interested or I'm going selections, and whether you chose to show a Going status publicly for a specific event.

Organizers: organization name, logo, description, website, a private admin contact, event listings and uploaded images.

Messages you send through Contact and Report a Problem.

Please do not submit client or patient information. The service is not designed for it.

What is public and what is private

Private by default: your email address (never public), saves (always private), Interested selections, and Going selections unless you opt in for that event.

Public only if you choose: your profile fields when you turn on public profile, and your name and photo in Who's going when you mark Going and opt in for that event.

Organizers cannot see private saves, private attendance, attendee emails or individual browsing histories. We do not sell or export attendee contact lists.

Visibility rules are enforced by our database, not only by the screen you see.

How we use information

To run accounts, show events, save your choices, review listings, prevent abuse, respond to reports, and send service messages such as receipts and cancellation notices when email delivery is configured. Marketing email is optional and separate from accepting the Terms.

Service providers

We use a hosting and database provider for authentication, data storage and file storage, Google for optional sign-in, and Stripe to process organizer payments. Stripe receives payment details directly. We do not store full payment card numbers.

We do not use advertising pixels or third-party analytics. Only necessary storage is used unless you allow optional analytics in Cookie preferences.

Analytics

If you allow optional analytics, and your browser does not send a do-not-track or Global Privacy Control signal, we store a random ID in your browser and record the pages you load, event pages you view, clicks on Register with organizer, the referring website's domain, and the time. This runs on our own systems, not a third-party analytics service.

We scramble the random ID before storing it. We do not send your name, email, bio, saves or attendance to analytics, and we do not store your IP address with analytics records.

We use this to produce totals: for our admins, for organizers about their own listings (views, estimated unique viewers and registration-link clicks), and, if enabled, a public 30-day summary. Organizers never see individual browsing histories.

You can turn analytics off at any time in Cookie preferences, which removes the ID from your browser. [Owner setup needed: analytics retention period.]

Security

We use access controls and encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure and we cannot promise that information will never be accessed without authorization.

Retention

Account data is kept while your account is open. Records we must keep, such as orders, receipts and agreement acceptances, are kept for [Owner setup needed: retention periods]. Moderation records may be kept to prevent repeat abuse.

Your choices and requests

You can edit or hide your profile, remove saves, and change attendance visibility at any time.

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data through Contact and Report a Problem or [Owner setup needed: privacy contact email]. We verify identity before acting and some records may be kept where required by law.

Rights available to you depend on where you live. [Owner setup needed: jurisdiction specific rights for [Owner setup needed: operating jurisdiction].]

Age

Accounts are for adults. Launch default: [Owner setup needed: approved minimum account age] or older, by self-attestation only.

Changes

We will post updates here with a new version date and notify account holders of material changes.
